Gio’s Club and Bar is the clubroom of the Oscar Wilde Memorial Society Inc., a not-for-profit corporation. We are a community-owned club run by a community elected board, operating for the benefit of gay / lesbian / bisexual & transgendered people.

Gio's Club & Bar first opened for business in 1982. Since then, Gio's Club & Bar has made a name for itself as a home for anyone in the GLBTT community from any sexuality or nationality.

Membership is required to enter the Club. Gio’s Club and Bar is licensed as a private membership club by the MLCC, but we welcome non-members as guests to the maximum extent permitted by the regulations. There is never any problem admitting out-of-town guests.

Members are allowed to bring up to 3 guests as long as those guests are signed in by the member.

V.I.P. memberships are available which entitles members to free admission (except special events). Regular memberships are also available but cover charge applies each time with this form of membership.

All memberships are valid for all of the duration of the current year purchased & require renewal each year. All members of the Oscar Wilde Memorial Society / Gio's Cares are also members of Gio's Cares. Members have voting privlidges at the OWMS & Gio's Cares annual general meetings.

May 10, 2012 - CALLOUT FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Amazing changes are underway at Gio's. As noted in yesterday's fantastic Gio's Pride line-up, our space is being redecorated. Good with a brush? We are appealing for volunteer painters as follows: floor painting (May 15), and wall painting (May 21, 22, 23, and 24). If you can lend a hand, please send us a message or respond below. Due to the work schedule, we reluctantly have to close on Wed. May 23. Consider being part of the change.

May 9, 2012 - Pride Week Lineup announced!

 

This is a BIG year for Gio's Club and Bar! Not only are we celebrating a milestone 30th year, we are pleased to be hosting amazing events EVERY NIGHT leading up to Pride! Winnipeg Pride is 25! Let's show Winnipeg and our out-of-town friends how to Bare our True Colours!

Volunteers have been working very hard to secure Gio's as the premiere destination for our Community. Over the next couple of weeks Gio's is going to transform into a new vision. Come see us unveil the New Gio's on Friday May 25th.

The rest of the week is chock full of great events, sure to tickle your fancies. From Glow parties to Foam parties, from Gayrotic Bingo to a Big Money Karaoke night, from Kegs to Martinis, from the presentation of Mr. and Ms. Gio's to a night of the living Bears, it all caps off with our super energized Pride Patio Party!
